Robot demos go viral at expos, but only those 'seriously working' are worth investing in
At the WAIC 2026 venue, humanoid robots dancing, fighting, running, and playing ping pong—these visuals are indeed impressive and easy to spread on social media. But as someone working in product within the insurtech sector, I see another layer of issues: What do these performances have to do with our business scenarios? If tomorrow I need to deploy a robot at a claims scene, can it help me crawl into a deformed car to take photos? Can it distinguish between faked scratches and real collision damage in accident photos?
