WeRide's One-Stage End-to-End Global Expansion Lessons for Traditional ADAS Supply Chains
Last week at our Shenzhen office, an FAE from a German supplier complained to me. Their L2+ solution for a certain European automaker performs completely differently in Stuttgart roundabouts versus Shanghai outer ring roads—like two different species. He sent over some logs: the domestic version glides through smoothly, but the German version keeps downgrading right at the roundabout entrance. The reason is simple—in their modular architecture, perception outputs an obstacle list, while planning has to handle roundabout topology separately. Differences in road markings across countries just blew up their rule library. This reminds me of WeRide's recently announced progress in taking their L2++ solutions overseas. They've partnered with Bosch to push their single-stage end-to-end approach into Germany, France, and Japan.
