When AI Bio-R&D Has an 'Operating System,' How Should We Teach Students?
Last week during a science and tech club class, a student held up some research he'd found and asked me, "Teacher, AI is already pretty good at predicting protein structures. Does that mean doing biology experiments in the future will just be about writing code?" A few other kids in the classroom gathered around, and someone even joked, "So does studying biology turn into learning programming?" Before I could answer, I saw the news that Jinbo Xu's team had officially opened MoleculeOS—a platform dubbed the "Windows moment for AI bio-R&D," which happened to address exactly what the students were wondering.
