DAMO Academy's liver cancer AI model: how does it perform in clinical use?

I spent two days testing the DAMO LiON liver cancer diagnosis model just released by DAMO Academy. Strictly speaking, I wasn't operating a CT scanner on patients myself; instead, I ran a batch of anonymized liver imaging data from my hands through the model's public validation process, and also spent two days digging into the paper and demos.
