Dozens of open-source harnesses emerged overnight; finally addressing AI agent trust issues

This week, a bunch of agent harness projects popped up on Hacker News. I counted over a dozen just on the trending list. One project called Lemmaflow went open-source directly, positioning itself as "trust harness for AI-native applications." The star count in the repo isn't growing super fast, but looking at the depth of discussions in the issues section, it’s clearly built by a team that has done real work. Also, I checked out an ecosystem map someone compiled; as of now, there are dozens of similar open-source harness projects. Projects backed by big companies like goose have over 30k stars, and things like gemini cli are straight-up official releases.

Auditing is really a pain point... My post last week about self-healing workflows was basically just adding retries and checkpoints to agents. Otherwise, if it dies halfway through, you don't know who to blame. Trust isn't about whether its capabilities are good or bad; it's about whether you can review what went wrong when errors happen.
