Shanji Loomos AI Glasses: The Chip Engineering Trade-offs Behind Lightweight Design

People who work with chips have a habit: when they get a new device, their first instinct isn't to look at its appearance, but to guess its power consumption and heat dissipation solutions. Loomos, a sub-brand of Shanjie (Senseluxury), has been paving the way overseas since CES 2025. Now, with the domestic launch event scheduled for August 18th, their pacing is quite steady. I looked through previous information: when the Loomos AI glasses debuted at CES, they featured a GPT-4o-driven voice assistant, supporting 4K photos and 1080P video. Later, they released the S1 model, claimed to be the world's lightest AI glasses at 29 grams, with a perceived weight of 15 grams, priced at 3,999 yuan. This number got me excited—fitting a chip, battery, camera, microphone, speaker, and running AI inference into 29 grams? How did they overcome the power wall?

Power consumption and heat dissipation are indeed major flaws, and cloud inference latency is even more critical. I've tried similar solutions; from on-device wake-up to cloud response, the user-perceived latency is at least 1.5 seconds, making the experience on glasses basically a disaster. Have you tested the actual latency? How do you handle privacy agreements?

Ugh, the power consumption you calculated has me worried... I just tried my friend's unit yesterday. With screen brightness maxed out under strong outdoor light, the battery drained faster than expected and it got hot to the touch in 20 minutes. It's lightweight, sure, but battery life and heat dissipation really can't coexist... Also, with such a small camera module, stabilization is probably shaky.

Packing so much stuff into 29 grams... The battery life seems questionable. If it dies in half an hour, do you have to carry a power bank everywhere just to wear glasses? My WorkBuddy automated weekly reports don't even drain this much battery (lol)
