Meituan Riders Can Pause Timers at Red Lights, But the Real Challenge Remains

Last week while on a business trip in Suzhou, I specifically staked out an intersection for half an hour to watch food delivery riders cross the street. When the red light came on, a rider in yellow stopped at the crosswalk, glanced down at his phone, looked back up at the light, and switched between the two three times. That action reminded me of a question I used to obsess over when I was a product manager: where exactly does the user's real pain point hide?
