While You Debate 128-Line Radar, Thousand-Line Units Are Ready

Last week I was chatting with a friend who works on autonomous driving. He complained that the 128-line LiDAR on their prototype car struggles in urban expressways at dusk—taillights and streetlights blend together, creating a mess of noise points in the point cloud. I suggested tweaking the threshold, but he said he already did, and given the resolution limits, it still can't distinguish between two cars driving side-by-side or a gap in between. I told him to just wait for Hesai's ETX, even though it won't be out until late 2026.
