Don't Reinvent the Wheel, But Understand How It Works
Let's borrow an analogy from biology: Scientists studying model organisms—fruit flies, zebrafish, nematodes—have long discovered a pattern: gene regulatory mechanisms verified in one species often have corresponding versions in another. The catch is, you have to spend years mastering every detail of the model organism first, only then can you know which experiences are transferable and which are exceptions.
