Reverse Engineering N64 Games with LLMs: When AI Turns 'Ocarina of Time' into a Native iOS App, the Emulator Era Ends

According to data from the publicly available HarkinianPad project on GitHub, developer Chris Sotraidis used LLM-assisted decompilation tools to directly convert the N64 ROM of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time into native iOS code. It runs at a stable 30fps, whereas traditional simulators only achieve around 20fps on the same device. Behind these numbers lies a paradigm shift in AI within the field of reverse engineering.
