Patent Growth Masks Value Capture Challenges

I noticed an interesting detail: in this dataset released by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), the 16.5% share and the 64.9% growth rate in export value essentially reflect two different levels of issues. The former is stock, while the latter is flow. Stock tells us which fields China is accumulating technical assets in, while flow reveals the trend of these assets starting to generate cross-border revenue.
