Kimi K3's compute bottleneck exposes the AI industry's capacity ramp-up deadlock
The most valuable takeaway from this article is that Kimi K3's launch wasn't a technical victory, but a supply chain management failure. A model that runs blazingly fast on the user end was forced to pause new registrations because the "yield rate" of its compute clusters couldn't keep up. This looks exactly like scenarios I've seen countless times at Foxconn—the product design is perfect, but as soon as the production line starts, orders explode, yield rates fail to climb, and capacity gets stuck at a bottleneck.
