When AI Acts as Both Doctor and Rumor-Monger, What Should We Really Worry About?
The Ministry of Public Security reported that over 170 cases involving the use of AI tools to generate online rumors were investigated in the first half of the year. This number is really just the tip of the iceberg. As a product manager who has been grinding it out in the medical AI sector, my first reaction wasn't anger, but a sense of familiarity—this is strikingly similar to the confusion doctors faced when AI-assisted diagnostic imaging systems first launched, boasting "99% lung nodule detection rates": the mismatch between technological maturity and real-world deployment scenarios is often the root of the problem.
