Geely Uses Ford's Old Shell: European Manufacturing Moves from Bypass to Grounding
Geely has formed a joint venture with Ford in Valencia, Spain, with the first model scheduled to roll off the line in 2028. The timing is smart: it avoids the window where the EU imposes tariffs on Chinese EVs and uses Ford's idle production lines to dilute factory construction costs. In plain terms, this isn't a gamble on "building a factory from scratch," but a pragmatic move toward "capacity sharing."
