The Battle for Agent Entry Points: Big Tech Replacing 'Tools' with 'Toys'
What surprised me most at this year's WAIC wasn't some model breaking another leaderboard record, but that big players like Baidu, Alibaba, and ByteDance all moved Agents from launch event PPTs to on-site experience zones simultaneously. Kids sat on Miaoda sofas building apps with natural language, while office workers gathered around tables in the Qianwen workspace organizing meeting minutes via voice—these scenarios seem ordinary, but behind them lies a clear strategic shift: rather than being the super Agent that solves every problem, big companies are more anxious to seize the "Agent entry point" on users' phones. This is essentially a replication of traffic thinking in the AI era, except this time, the form of the entry point has changed from a search box to a chat window.
