Huawei HarmonyOS AI Strategy in Education Spaces: Short-Term User Appeal vs. Long-Term Ecosystem Lock-in

Last night, my roommate dug out her dusty MatePad Mini. She said after updating the system, she found a new "Education Space" feature, which surprisingly includes synchronized question banks for schoolwork and eye-care mode. Her third-grader (a.k.a. little monster) finally doesn't have to use her phone to scroll through TikTok anymore. I casually checked my own tablet, and the update log also mentioned "Gallery AI photo editing enhanced color bleeding and Magic Move." These two features seem unrelated, but looking at them together, Huawei's approach to AI on HarmonyOS is actually quite interesting.
