Apple AI Filings Partner with Alibaba: On-Device LLMs Enter Engineering Crunch Time

On July 15, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) announced that seven mobile on-device generative AI services had completed filing. The list includes: Huawei Xiaoyi, OPPO AI Assistant, vivo Blue Heart AI, Xiaomi HyperOS AI, Samsung AI, Nubia Doubao Mobile LLM, and Apple Intelligence. According to the filing entity information, the filer for Apple Intelligence is Alibaba's Tongyi Qianwen. This means Apple must provide on-device AI services in the Chinese market through local partners, and Alibaba has secured this entry ticket.
