Humanoid Robot 'Rental Gold Rush' Fades; 'Service Infrastructure' Term Needs Reinterpretation
I noticed an interesting detail: the English headline of this TMTPost report uses the phrase "Rental Gold Rush," whereas in Chinese contexts we usually say "rental boom" or "rental business." But the term "Gold Rush" itself carries a strong speculative connotation—in a gold rush, those who truly make money aren't the prospectors, but the ones selling shovels. Applying this metaphor to the humanoid robot field actually hints at a more fundamental structural shift: when the rental market moves from "selling robots" to "selling services," the word "infrastructure" is no longer just about physical charging stations or cloud platforms, but represents an entirely new commercial language.
