PHYSIX OBSERVATION
Amazon's ban on external Agents appears to be about security and compliance, but in essence it is defending its advertising and traffic gateway. Agents bypass platform recommendations to place orders directly, which would shake the e-commerce advertising model. But Shopify's reverse opening of its catalog shows that Agents are becoming a new sales channel. If platforms only block them, they may hand the shopping gateway to more open competitors.
