Doubao Agent Access Window Closes: All 7 Platforms Refuse
KEY FACTS
- Doubao Mobile Assistant launched its SAEP agent authorization notice on September 14, giving apps a 30-day window to decide on their own.
- The window closed on October 14, and WeChat, Alipay, Taobao, Meituan, Pinduoduo, Didi, and Xiaohongshu all refused.
- Doubao's technical capabilities already include visual understanding and automated tapping; the obstacle is that platforms will not open their entry points.
- An open agent platform from a certain phone maker also faced collective refusal from apps.
- China's core services are locked inside super apps as closed loops, lacking a web openness tradition and interoperability rules.

PHYSIX OBSERVATION
This is not the failure of Doubao alone, but the inevitable result of China's internet castle landscape. Platforms are both gateways and data pools, and none is willing to downgrade its front end to a mere pipe. In the short term, general cross-ecosystem agents cannot get through, AI-operated actions will retreat into each giant's internal closed loop, and users will only get a fragmented island experience.
