XPeng IRON Robot to Enter Europe in 2027, Mass Production Plan Unveiled

KEY FACTS

  • XPeng announced that its IRON humanoid robot will enter the European market in the second half of 2027.
  • IRON has 76 degrees of freedom throughout its body, 21 in each hand, and is equipped with three self-developed Turing chips delivering 2250 TOPS of compute.
  • XPeng plans to mass-produce IRON by the end of 2026, with deliveries in the first half of 2027, and monthly capacity can be ramped up to several thousand units.
  • Pengxing completed over $900 million in financing in August, at a post-money valuation of over $6.3 billion.
  • IRON's initial primary use case is guided tours, starting in XPeng stores and campuses before being sold to external customers.

PHYSIX OBSERVATION

XPeng is directly reusing its automotive production lines, capital, and store scenarios for robots, putting its mass-production pace ahead of most peers. But guided-tour scenarios don't need dexterous hands or redundant compute, and the reasons for external customers to pay remain vague. The real test is whether the data closed loop can run, not the production ramp-up.
