PHYSIX OBSERVATION
A top-speed run on an open public road is closer to real-world conditions than a test track, but high heat, crosswinds and sand also sharply raise the risk. BYD is using a limited-run supercar to set records, and the real point is an extreme endorsement of its 1200V platform and 3000 horsepower; results like these are hard to transfer directly to production cars, but they can establish a technology label in the high-end market. The next question is whether production cars can live up to it.
