Huawei Xiaoyi AI Quick Bar to Roll Out in Batches by Late October
KEY FACTS
- Huawei officially launched the HarmonyOS 7 operating system at its September 7 launch event.
- HarmonyOS 7 ships with the Harmony Intelligence architecture, which supports the system-level Xiaoyi agent.
- The architecture combines a four-layer memory framework, application Skills, cloud and on-device large models, and multi-device collaboration.
- Once enabled, the Xiaoyi AI Quick Bar stays permanently in the Dock at the bottom of the phone's home screen.
- Huawei customer service says the feature is expected to roll out gradually by late October, pushed in batches by device model.
PHYSIX OBSERVATION
Xiaoyi has gone from a voice assistant to an always-on Dock entry point, which shows Huawei treats the AI agent as system-level infrastructure rather than a single app. The batched rollout means adaptation and on-device model scheduling are still under pressure, and users will see a fragmented experience across device models in the short term. For the industry, the battle for the desktop-level AI entry point has already begun.
