Qualcomm Asked to Ship 100B On-Device Model Mobile Platform by 2028

He called smart glasses the wearable AI device he is most bullish on.

PHYSIX OBSERVATION

Squeezing a 100B model into a phone is equivalent to compressing today's data center compute into the palm of your hand, and power consumption and the memory wall are the hard bones to chew. If Qualcomm really delivers by 2028, the competitive focus of on-device AI will shift from cloud parameters to chip energy efficiency, and the reason to upgrade a phone will shift from cameras to agents. This is more worth watching than the 6G timeline.
