PHYSIX OBSERVATION
Microsoft adding citation links to Copilot looks like an anti-hallucination move, but in essence it shifts the cost of verification onto users. If AI-generated content cannot be guaranteed accurate at the source, relying on clicking links after the fact to check it is only a stopgap. For office scenarios, this can lower the risk of misuse, but the industry needs to reduce fabrication at the model layer rather than just doing surface-level provenance.
