Robot decommissioning is becoming a new problem: specialized hardware and intellectual property cannot be simply dismantled, and lithium battery safety concerns lead most furnaces to refuse them. Figure turned the destruction into a marketing event, saving costs while gaining exposure. But it also exposes the industry's lack of a standardized recycling system, and the decommissioning wave after humanoid robots reach mass production will be even more daunting.
