Momenta, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen ink global smart-driving deal
KEY FACTS
- Momenta and Shenlong Technology signed a global strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai on September 24.
- The two sides will jointly develop an advanced driver-assistance system based on Momenta's R7 world model.
- The partnership covers Peugeot and Jeep brand models, targeting China, Europe, and global markets.
- Several Shenlong Technology new-energy models will carry Momenta's world model and receive continuous over-the-air iterations.
- The new products are slated for rollout starting in 2027, spanning pure-electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
PHYSIX OBSERVATION
By using Shenlong to slot its solution into Stellantis' global brands, Momenta is effectively trading Chinese smart-driving capability for an overseas production channel. For the industry, foreign automakers' intelligentization in China is shifting from in-house development to procurement, and the globalization window for suppliers is opening; but with rollout only in 2027, the pace is slow, and whether it can keep up with domestic iteration speed is the key question.
