Nvidia releases four open-source Cosmos 3 world models
KEY FACTS
- Nvidia released four open-weight models in the Cosmos 3 series on HuggingFace.
- All four models are post-trained from Cosmos 3 Nano and carry 16 billion trainable parameters.
- Transfer-Auto can generate synchronized driving video from up to 11 camera views.
- Sim-Auto streams camera and lidar data in a few denoising steps.
- The models use the OpenMDW1.1 license, permitting commercial and non-commercial use.

PHYSIX OBSERVATION
Nvidia has turned world models into downloadable open weights, effectively handing the community a data-production tool for autonomous-driving and robotics simulation. The 16B scale plus a commercially friendly license will accelerate the replacement of real-world data collection with synthetic data, but whether the models can faithfully support policy learning remains to be verified; do not mistake realistic generation for physical correctness.
