On October 30, Fortior Technology released its third-quarter report. Third-quarter revenue was 281 million yuan, up 53.59% year on year; non-recurring net profit was 80.16 million yuan, up 74.51%.

Fortior's chips go into fans, water pumps, and other equipment, controlling how motors turn and how fast, balancing efficiency, noise, and operating stability. The business previously built up customers in home appliances, and now industrial and automotive applications are growing faster.

In the first half of the year, about half of Fortior's incremental revenue came from the industrial business. Server cooling demand is scaling up the business of a home-appliance motor chip company.

Industrial Revenue Up 175%, Server Cooling Brings Demand

The third-quarter report mentions that revenue from industrial and automotive applications grew substantially. For a more detailed business structure, one needs to look at this year's interim report.

In the first half, Fortior's industrial business revenue grew 175%, accounting for 26.25% of total revenue. Based on total first-half revenue of 561 million yuan, industrial business revenue was about 147 million yuan. Calculating backward from the year-on-year growth rate, the revenue increase from the industrial business accounted for about half of the company's total revenue increase over the same period.

The interim report discloses that Fortior has entered the supply chains of major global cooling module manufacturers, providing motor drive control solutions for cooling of server compute units, high-end switches, data center power supplies, and coolant distribution units (CDUs).

Computing equipment must run continuously, and so must fans and pumps. Cooling module manufacturers need motors to run as required, effectively removing heat while controlling their own power consumption and noise. Fortior participates precisely in the motor drive and control link.

In the product introductions published on Fortior's official website, servers are already listed among the mature applications of the FT1128 control solution. The motor control technology the company accumulated in the past has now caught up with greater cooling demand.

Fortior participates in the server business through cooling module manufacturers. The chips first enter module designs, then ship with the modules.
