All Three of Volkswagen's Chinese Joint Ventures Are Now Using Horizon Robotics

FAW-Volkswagen, SAIC Volkswagen, and Volkswagen Anhui all now have models using Horizon Robotics' intelligent driving technology.

The Jetta M6, which launched on October 22, is among them. Its 555 Ultra version is equipped with Horizon Robotics' Journey 6M chip and uses the full-scenario assisted driving system developed by CARIZON, the joint venture between Volkswagen and Horizon Robotics. Combined with Horizon Robotics' HSD foundation model, it supports urban and highway navigation assist as well as intelligent parking.

On October 26, Horizon Robotics disclosed details of its collaboration on this vehicle and also listed several Volkswagen-family models already on the market. Volkswagen's annual plan announced in July was to have CARIZON's full-scenario assisted driving solution gradually deployed across seven new electrified models from its three Chinese joint ventures. Now, the results of this collaboration are being delivered one model at a time as new vehicles hit the market.

Beyond the Jetta, What Other Cars Are There

On September 20, the FAW-Volkswagen ID. AURA T6 was launched, equipped with the Journey 6H chip and the HSD foundation model, using CARIZON's Hyper Sense 8 full-scenario assisted driving solution.

By October 26, Horizon Robotics further disclosed that Volkswagen Anhui's Yuzhong 06 and Yuzhong 07 had recently been refreshed and launched, also using the Journey 6H chip and the HSD foundation model. SAIC Volkswagen's ID. ERA 5S has also entered mass production with Horizon Robotics' intelligent driving technology.

The Jetta M6 uses the Journey 6M, while the ID. AURA T6 and the aforementioned Yuzhong models use the Journey 6H. Vehicles from different joint ventures and with different positioning are adopting the same generation of Horizon Robotics' chip family and model technology.

A ranking compiled by Gasgoo based on China Passenger Car Association data shows that the ID. ERA 5S had September wholesale sales of 6,889 units, up 125.5% month-on-month.
