Your First AI Workspace Starts with a Class Schedule

Two days ago, you learned how to install software and write prompts. Today, build your first result—a class schedule workspace.

Why start with a class schedule? Because it's the simplest, can be built in 5 steps, and you'll use it every day. Unlike complex workspaces that require dozens of steps, causing beginners to give up halfway.

Class schedules are different. You can use it the same day you build it, and tomorrow you'll see today's classes, which courses have assignments due, and how many days until exams.

This "instant usability" positive feedback is key to sticking with learning.

■ What is a Workspace? Why Not Just Use a Chat Box?

You might ask: Can't I just ask the AI in the chat box, "What classes do I have today?" Why build a workspace?

You can. But every time, you have to restate who you are, what your schedule is, and what format you want. After saying it three times, you'll get annoyed.

A workspace stores this fixed information. You open it and use it immediately without repeating descriptions.

Analogy: A chat box is like filling out address, phone, and taste preferences every time you order food delivery. A workspace is saving those details for one-click ordering.

A class schedule workspace lets you see today's classes, upcoming assignments, and exam countdowns instantly upon opening. No typing required; everything displays automatically.

■ Build a Class Schedule Workspace in Five Steps

Each step below is detailed. Follow along, and you'll definitely finish within 15 minutes.

Step 1: Create New Workspace

Click the "Workspace" icon in the left navigation bar, click "New," and name it—"My Class Schedule."

Name it whatever you like, but choose a name that clearly indicates its purpose. You might build several workspaces later, and messy names make them hard to find.

Step 2: Tell It What You Want

In the input box, write: "Create a class schedule workspace for me. I am a college student with classes Monday to Friday. Include: Course Name, Class Time, Classroom Location, Instructor. Present in table format."

Note: This uses yesterday's formula—Identity (College Student) + Task (Create Schedule) + Requirements (4 fields, table format).

After sending, the AI generates a table framework. Check if the fields are correct; if not, ask it to modify.

Step 3: Add Course Information

Fill in your actual course info. You can type directly or send a screenshot of your school schedule for it to recognize.

Recommended: Use screenshots—take a picture of the academic system schedule, send it to AI, and let it auto-extract. This is 10x faster than manual typing.

If AI recognition is incorrect (e.g., "Advanced Math" recognized as "Advanc"), manually edit the table. AI won't overwrite your manual edits.

Step 4: Add Features—Assignment Reminders

Add to the conversation: "Add an assignment reminder area next to the schedule, sorted by deadline, marking urgency (Urgent/Normal/Low Priority)."

AI adds a new section to the workspace. Enter assignment info, and it auto-sorts by deadline.

Tip: Whenever there's a new assignment, just say in the chat, "Added a new Advanced Math assignment due next Friday," and AI updates the reminder area automatically.

Step 5: Add More—Exam Countdown

Add further: "Add an exam countdown area at the bottom, showing days remaining until each final exam, highlighting in red if less than 7 days."

Once done, your class schedule workspace has three sections: Schedule, Assignment Reminders, Exam Countdown.

Open it daily for a glance: today's classes, soon-to-expire assignments, approaching exams—all clear at a view.

■ How to Use After Building? Daily Usage Guide

Building isn't the end; it's the beginning. Workspaces become more intuitive with use, but you need to cultivate the habit of spending 1 minute updating daily.

Every morning, open the workspace and spend 1 minute telling it about new assignments or changes. E.g., "Today's Advanced Math class is canceled," "English class added an assignment due next Wednesday."

AI automatically updates reminders and countdowns. You don't need to manually edit tables—one sentence in the chat suffices.

Common Issues:

  • Workspace data lost? Check if you logged into the same account. Cross-device sync requires consistent accounts; switching accounts hides previous workspaces.
  • AI mis...
