AITO is preparing to enter Europe, and there's new word on its intelligent technology plans.

On October 20, according to a 36Kr report, AITO's overseas-market M6, M7, M8, and M9 are planned to be jointly developed with Bosch, using a solution covering advanced driver assistance, smart cockpits, and chassis. Bosch has already begun related development, with the highway navigation-assisted driving feature tentatively scheduled for mass production in September 2027.

In China, AITO's key selling points are Huawei's intelligent driving and HarmonyOS cockpit. Overseas, however, it plans to use a Bosch solution.

AITO's Europe plan has already been announced. On October 12, Seres announced during the Paris Motor Show that AITO will enter the European market in autumn 2027, with the M9, M8, M7, and M6 all on display. The company also said it is advancing local certification and adjusting its products around European roads and driving habits.

The Bosch partnership plan currently comes from media disclosures, and the specific configuration and reasons for the choice still await formal explanation from both parties.

What Bosch Can Do for Seres

Taking driver assistance overseas requires developing and validating the system on local roads. Seres has set a goal of entering Europe next autumn, leaving little time to prepare the overseas version.

The help Bosch provides can be seen more concretely in its product materials. According to Bosch's official website, its driver assistance solutions combine software, sensors, and computing platforms, allowing automakers to choose functions based on the target market; modular design and validated software help reduce system integration development work. Bosch also emphasizes that its global R&D layout supports adaptation to regulations and safety requirements in different regions.

This is exactly the capability Seres needs to develop its European version. If the partnership materializes, Seres has the opportunity to leverage Bosch's existing software, hardware, and local engineering resources, reducing the work it would otherwise have to redo in overseas vehicle development.

But changing solutions itself also takes time. Intelligent driving needs to work with the vehicle's steering and braking, the cockpit involves interaction and vehicle-wide functions, and after installation there is still joint debugging to do. The mass production target for highway navigation assistance mentioned in the report is next September, close to the European market entry time announced by AITO. Which features can actually be enabled at delivery will directly affect the competitiveness of the first batch of models.

Without the Familiar Huawei Selling Point, How Will AITO Sell?

In Seres' official introduction in May this year, Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 and the HarmonyOS Smart Travel exclusive cockpit were both important features of the new-generation AITO M9. It is hard for Chinese consumers to understand AITO without Huawei.
